Position: Automotive Design Engineer
Location: Batley

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The role:

  • To take conceptual 3D models, translating into working drawings and BOM.
  • Modify existing designs to suit new chassis platforms.
  • Productionise conceptual models with a view to economic batch manufacture.
  • Value analyse parts and assemblies for economic production.

The candidate:

  • Educated to recognised Mechanical Design Degree, HNC/HND qualification
  • Experience in fabrication of carbon and stainless steel as well as aluminium.
  • Experience in vehicle design of piping layouts in rigid and flexible material up to 6’.
  • Automotive experience gained from road tanker or commercial vehicle manufacture would be a distinct advantage.
  • Able to work on own initiative to a high standard, working as part of a small team.
  • Experienced in PTC Creo Elements / Direct Modelling / Direct Drafting essential

Responsibilities

  • Prepare all necessary production drawings, in line with agreed Company schedules, to ensure that performance and quality requirements of the specification are met.
  • Ensure all designs are cost effective in terms of optimising the utilisation of labour and materials.
  • Ensure designs relate to standards required by specific customers and specific markets and that all statutory conditions are met.
  • Provide, issue and control drawings to Company departments and to sub-contractors.
  • Ultimately manage multiple projects from conception to completion liaising with both internal and external customers and suppliers.

Working hours are 39 hours per week.

Position: Vehicle Pipework & Pneumatics Mechanical Fitter
Location: Batley

Angloco Limited manufactures Fire & Rescue Vehicles in Batley and we are currently looking for and experienced Vehicle Pipework Pneumatics fitter. Our vehicles are hand built to a very high standard and therefore we require a conscientious and highly skilled workforce.

As a member of our vehicle building team you will use your skills to manufacture and fit components to a wide range of new HGV based Fire & Rescue Vehicles. This will include making bespoke pipework & components and installing them into the vehicles along with valves and other vehicle components and systems.

The most suitable candidates will be fully skilled and experienced, ideally with recognised qualifications (City & Guilds / NVQ etc.).

  • To be experienced in working on vehicle chassis and associated equipment
  • To be able to follow engineering drawings and install assemblies accordingly.
  • To carry out installation of PTO’s, gearboxes, drive lines, pumps, hydraulic lines and fittings.
  • You will be required to install and test PTO’s, gearboxes, pumps, drivelines, hydraulic equipment and pipework and small bore water pipework. Knowledge of truck chassis’, fuel systems and vehicle air systems would be a distinct advantage.
  • You should be experienced in using, welders and pipe cutting equipment and have knowledge of pipework installation, fittings and sealing of pipes and pumping equipment.
  • You will need to be confident in working with stainless steel etc. using hand tools and powered hand tools as well as being able to weld to a high standard.

Working hours are 39 hours per week.

Position: Vehicle Body/Coach Builder
Location: Batley
Employment type: Full Time Permanent

You will be required to fabricate the bodywork that will be fitted to new Fire & Rescue Vehicles. This will include making framework and panelling along with various brackets and body parts. You will be building sub-assemblies and installing items such as roller shutters, sliding draws & trays, fitting doors, door handles, locking mechanisms and hinges.

You will need to be confident in working with aluminium, stainless steel and ideally plastic, using hand tools and powered hand tools as well as equipment like guillotines, folding machines, vertical drills and power saws.

The most suitable candidates will be fully skilled and experienced, ideally with recognised qualifications (City & Guilds / NVQ etc.). Previous experience of specialist vehicle body building would be an advantage, in order to demonstrate the required skills.

Working hours are 39 hours per week.

Position: Service Engineer
Location: Batley

JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are currently looking to recruit a service engineer with a preferred background in commercial vehicles/ engineering with a working knowledge of electrics and hydraulic systems.  Our product range includes hydraulic platforms, airport crash tenders, fire fighting and rescue vehicles and equipment.

Ideal candidates will be fully skilled with recognised qualifications and have the appropriate experience, although specific training will be provided.  Candidates must be self-motivated, and able to work with minimum supervision, to produce work to the high quality standards expected by the Company and its customers.

Applicants must hold a current driving licence, and be prepared to work away from home for short periods, with the possibility of short term overseas contracts.
